I am grateful for the opportunity to run for Wasatch County Council. My husband and I bought our first home in Heber City more than twenty years ago. We have loved raising our four daughters in this wonderful community. I am running for office because I have a vision for the future of this valley. The decisions we make now will extend long into our future, and the future of our children and grandchildren.
On the Wasatch County Council, my primary goal will be the continued health and high quality of life of our residents, with respect for the past and vision for the future. I plan to represent the specific interests of my Heber constituents at the county level. I will support and work with the Heber Mayor and City Council, as well as those of the other cities and unincorporated areas. I support Heber City’s General Plan and Airport Master plan. I am against increased density in Wasatch County. I support open spaces, trails, and other recreational opportunities. I promote sound economic practices and reasonable taxes, as well as transparency, accountability, and accessibility of public officials.
I have unique qualifications to serve on Wasatch County Council. I earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah. I have served on the Heber City Council, Planning Commission, and Board of Adjustments. I have also served on the Power, Sewer, Health, and Affordable Housing boards. Professionally, for many years, I have been an Adjunct Professor of English at Utah Valley University, Wasatch Campus.
I am excited for the opportunity to serve on the Wasatch County Council and would appreciate your vote.
